Text From Photograph: Why do city fire boats stationed at Collision Bend pump oil into the Cuyahoga River when the river already is in such dreadfull shape? - G.R.
Ed Kelley in the fire chief's office says, "We don't have any oil on our fire boat other than the fuel oil used to run it." What you might have seen was the boat pumping water to break up oil slicks already on the river. It does this regularly to reduce the fire hazard.
