Just What Is Digital Production, Anyway?

We're a new department just entering our terrible two's! The idea for a digital archiving production team was hatched in 2000, and assembled in 2001 with a team of students and staff. As the supply source for all the great Cleveland Press images you'll find on Cleveland Memory, we're in the process of archiving up to half a million photos.

	Digital Production Junior Staff Carla Conroy, a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences, has been with us from the very beginning. She does it all -- reproduction orders, reference help in Special Collections, and just about anything we need to get done. Carla proved invaluable during our early projects, including helping to select and prepare Tribe photos to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Cleveland Indians in 2001.
	Wendy Priandani, a junior in the College of Business, also has worked with us from the start. Much of his early work involved preparing the Postcards of Cleveland collection for Cleveland Memory. Wendy still works with our growing online collection of Press photos and customer orders.
	Lex Pumacheep, a graduate of the College of Business, received her CIS degree in 2002. She still hangs out and volunteers her time and knowledge with the Slide Library, home of over 200,000 art & archtecture visuals and the source of our Clay Herrick Slide Collection.
	Ailing Ngu, a graduate student in the College of Business, digitized original prints and created the site for our Wilbur J. & Sara Ruth Watson Bridge Book Collection, featured in 2001 at the annual 7th Historic Bridges Conference. She's been busy recently with Cleveland Union Terminal (i.e., Terminal Tower) and railroad image projects.
	Maggie Yang, also pursues graduate work in the College of Business. Her hard work is behind our successful Postcard collection, photo reproductions, and archiving the CUT Collection, among other things!
	Heidi Jackson, a freshman in the College of Arts & Sciences, works with Tasha by helping us with citations in the Engineering News Record and works with general processing of materials. She also input chapters to help us bring online our e-book Promises of Power, by Carl Stokes.
	Tasha Garrett, a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences, works with Heidi and helps us with citations in the Engineering News Record and works with general processing of materials.
	Digital Production Senior Staff Joanne Cornelius, email: j.cornelius@csuohio.edu our free-spirited yet fearless leader, keeps us moving forward as we expand our services. In addition to her administrative role, Joanne also spends time helping patrons in Special Collections.
	Lisa Khoenle, email: l.norton@csuohio.edu our preservation expert and image consultant par excellence , catalogs slides and makes certain our images come to you as perfect as possible. When she's not kept busy in Digital Production, you can find Lisa running the operations of the Slide Library.
	Lynn Duchez Bycko, email: l.duchez@csuohio.edu the resident "web monkey," keeps the technical gears greased, catalogs, and creates system databases and webpages for the team. She also helps folks find photos and information in Special Collections.
